Turkey Trot Chicago – New Course and Athlete Guide
Happy Thanksgiving Week! We’re getting excited and putting the final touches on the SOLD OUT 40th Annual Art Van Turkey Trot Chicago 5K|8K taking place on Thursday, November 23.
Sparked by recent events around the world, we have been working closely with the City of Chicago and it’s various departments in an evaluation of our course safety and procedures. The safety of our participants, volunteers and spectators is our utmost priority and while it is not our policy to disclose security details, we have made alterations to our course, while not altering the spirit of Thanksgiving in which we gather.
For over 40 years runners, walkers and joggers have gathered in Chicago’s Lincoln Park to celebrate Thanksgiving and to aid the more than 1 in 6 Chicagoans who go hungry. We are honored you are choosing to join us in this celebration.
Event day offers a myriad of options to help you and the family kick off the holiday the right way, including our 5K, 5K Youth, 8K and Plymouth Rock Ramble races. Turkey Trot Chicago also offers our holiday inspired Turkey Day Tailgate filled with games and fun for your entire family. Check out the 2017 Athlete Guide for detailed schedules, course information and more.
The Art Van Turkey Trot Chicago supports the Greater Chicago Food Depository. All participants are encouraged to bring non-perishable food products to packet pick up or on race day. Help do your part to ensure no Chicagoan goes hungry this holiday season. The goal is to gather more than 8 tons of food, with your help, we can do this! Lets fill the truck!!!
We’ll see you at the start line. Gobble, gobble!
